For June's ride FBM-Phoenix Phreaks planned an out of town ride to escape the heat. . This ride took place on 06-21-08.

Oak Creek Canyon Downhill. This was a point to point ride that
required vehicle shuttle. They started at the park at the top of
the hill, and rode down hill to Sedona. This ride went downhill on Hwy Alt 89 without bike path's. With it's two lane scenic black top road with
some steep down hill switchbacks, trees and tourist traffic, it was worth dealing with the hazzards.  This has been the longest
ride the phreaks have attempted, but it was almost all completely downhill.

Here is the official results via Lheffe's handlebar-mounted Garmin GPS unit captured while he was riding (individual results may vary).

Total trip length: 11.3 miles
Max speed: 33.2 mph
Starting Elevation: 6449 ft.
Ending Elevation: 4684 ft.
Elevation change: 1765 ft.
Total travel time (with lunch break): 1hr, 51 minutes
Our Phreak load of (5) bikes and riders at the top of the hill - starting to unload... Just about to get rolling from the top...
Cooling down some very HOT hubs after the switchbacks by a much appreciated roadside spring! What appears to be the Phoenix Flyers mascot strapped to his master's bike... Hubs all cooled down and ready to go again!
Talking smack...Phellow Phreak rider "Slick Rick" Phoenix Phreak's Kokopelli brother on the wall of a Mountain Bike shop on the way home...
