FreakBike Milita-West Palm: Chopppernite # 11

The theme for this Choppernite #11 was Hawaiian. With 145 riders there were lots of middleaged men in Coconut bikini tops and Hula skirtz, kinda scary!

The mid-ride festivities included Pizza for the riders, The "Big Kahuna Hula Hoop Contest", Had to do something to embarass those middle aged cross dressin' fools!

Big John built a custom "Pink Caddy" bike that we gave away to Rachael Saur ( the Gal who wrote the article in the Palm Beach Post).

Had some West Coast Chopper Hats and muggs to give out for The best dressed Hula guy and girl, Best Freakbike of the night, long distance award and Best Hawaiian themed bike of the night.

The main event though.... That was sumthin' to watch.....15 volunteers were asked to come up, if they win the event they could choose box "A" or box "B" and inside was their prize. So they had no idea what they were going to win. When it was announced what the contest would be.... "who could eat a can of Spam and a scoop of Poi the fastest" the volunteers thinned out real quick! We finally did get 13 participants lined up and scooped out the Spam. {Actually, since the FBM has no money we had to go with a Spam substitute "Armour canned meat" } Then a scoop of Poi and 2 vanilla wafers. First one one done gets to pick their box. Believe it or not nobody puked, one was close, but held it in. Mike Web won by a sizeable margin and chose box "A", he opens it up and its a...... can of Spam so the crowd decides to let him open box "B" and he's all excited and he opens it up and its a...... can of Spam! Then he's told to read the bottom of the can and on the bottom was a note saying "You have just won a brand new Bicycle from J-town Bikes!" A local shop that donated a cool Sun Cruiser for the ride. Big smile then on the face of the Spam Master! We had perfect weather for the ride and Johnny Law passed us a few times and just kept on cruisin'.
